Alt codes can help us improve the professional appearance of our blogs.

No more double-hyphens!  Only real long dashes will do!

Here is a link to a Penn State site that has a handy list of alt codes. The long dash — aka, em-dash — is at Alt-0151. Remember that in news writing, you put a space before and after.
